Zelda Soussan - author, director, actress, and artistic director of LUIT

After three years of preparatory classes (Lycée Fénelon, Paris) and a double equivalent of a third-year bachelor's degree in theater and geography, Zelda completed a research master's degree in theater at the Sorbonne (Paris III), supervised by Josette Féral for her thesis, “For a Political Relationship with the Spectator: A Guide to Open Participation.” During this master's program, she spent a year and a half studying directing at UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil), where she encountered the contemporary Brazilian theater scene in public spaces, particularly the Erro Grupo. She trained in urban intervention with this group and then returned to France, determined to work in public spaces, joining the 6th cohort of FAI-AR (Advanced Training in Public Space Art, Marseille). In parallel, she trained in acting at the conservatories of Pantin and Bobigny and performed with groups such as La Fura dels Baus (MURS), Loops (Rituel de désenvoutement de la Finance), and Les Souffleurs Commando Poétique (Le Chant des Vagabondes).

As an assistant director, she worked with Nathalie Garraud (C’est bien, c’est mal), Jean René Lemoine (Médée Poème Enragé), and Mark Etc (Attentifs Ensemble). She also participated in artivist projects with the Yes Men (Refugreenergy) and Desvio Coletivo (Cegos). She founded her company, LUIT – Laboratoire Urbain d’Interventions Temporaires (Urban Laboratory for Temporary Interventions), in 2015.
